I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Blame it on the Bass, and I have to tell you that this is Lexxie’s best book to date in my opinion. This was such an emotional story, and I can’t quite tell you enough what an absolute pleasure it was to read. As I’ve said before, Lexxie makes each one of these books better than the last, and you can certainly tell that these characters are just as special to her as they are to us readers. With each book, the characters have been able to capture my heart in a way that I fall in love with them a bit more with each release. Blame it on the Bass is an exceptionally well written read that was heartbreaking, funny, and oh so very sexy too. I literally couldn’t stop reading from start to finish.

Levi and his long-time partner Corbin are going through their own personal hell, and it is tearing them apart inside. Unfortunately, their relationship might not survive either as they each deal with their pain apart. It isn’t until Corbin sees Levi coming alive at the hands of a woman, that he finds a way to possibly save the future they have together. In a desperate attempt to heal their relationship and to figure out his own attraction to the feisty beauty, Corbin proposes to Levi they bring Sonja into their relationship.

Sonja dumped Levi back in high school, but a chance meeting during karaoke leaves her in a steaming pile of goo from her powerful attraction to not only Levi, but his partner Corbin as well. When the couple propose a threesome, she is leery to get involved in what she can clearly already see is a complicated situation. Although she isn’t timid to the concept of a three-way relationship given the fact that she is an erotic romance editor, she feels like she will be the Band-Aid in their relationship leaving her to be the one broken-hearted in the end.

Needless to say, the emotions run very high in this one. One minute you will be crying your eyes out for all the pain that Corbin and Levi are enduring, and then the next you will be laughing out loud at just how adorable these three are together. I particularly loved the dynamics of their three-way relationship. Levi was definitely the dominant one, but Corbin showed hints of it as well with Sonja. This power dynamics led to some incredibly sexy scenes that I promise will leave you all hot and bothered. *grin* Overall, Blame it on the Bass was one fantastic read. Like I said before, I really think that this series just keeps getting better, and I definitely recommend it. I’m excited to see what is in store for Jax in the next book Getting Played, so keep up the great work Lexxie and write faster because I’m dying to read the next book!
